“Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE” Award Recipients Announced

At the SHARE Foundation Annual Employee Christmas Party, Dr. Brian Jones, President and CEO, announced the “Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE” Award winners.

The “Spirit of SHARE” Award was created in 2004 to recognize employees of SHARE Foundation who go above and beyond their everyday duties. Employees who have been with SHARE for at least one year are eligible with the exception of the President/COO. Nominees are made by fellow SHARE employees and the nominees are evaluated on their willingness to go the extra mile, as well as their compassion, loyalty, responsibility, and integrity toward their co-workers, patients and members. An anonymous committee of the SHARE Foundation board reviews the nominations and makes the selections. In 2017 the award was renamed in honor of retiring SHARE President/COO Linda Stringfellow to the “Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE” Award.  Linda was never eligible for this award during her 27 years of service, but has always been the epitome of the “Spirit of SHARE”. Linda’s dedication, compassion, and love for SHARE and its vision to ‘build a healthier community’ far exceeded her job expectations. Linda lived it every day, claiming it as her life’s mission and service to God.

This year we had two finalists and one winner who exhibit the “Spirit of SHARE.” The two finalists received an engraved glass paperweight as well as an extra day of paid vacation.

Our first finalist is Luther Harris, Life Touch Hospice Chaplain. He was described as kind and easy to talk to.  Luther always makes visits in a timely manner, is very thorough when it comes to documenting visits, is punctual and rarely misses work.  He doesn’t judge, only supports. He is dedicated to his work and patients/families, and makes extra visits without even being asked. If Luther knows of a patient/family in crisis, he offers to do anything.  He is a person of integrity, one of the most respected members of our team and community, representing Life Touch and SHARE well, making his coworkers proud.

The next finalist is Lacey Borosvskis, Fitness Trainer at HealthWorks Fitness Center. She was described as demonstrating on a daily basis what it means to be the “Spirit of SHARE” by helping members and staff.  Lacey has such a love for people and has a contagious smile and laugh. She comes to work every day with a great attitude and much enthusiasm and gives 100%. Honest to a fault; true to self and beliefs; extremely disciplined and responsible.  Lacey is trusted by peers and supervisors because she gives them no reason to ever doubt her. She has worked for a long time to get to where she is now.  She is a great example to everyone she works with.

The overall 2017 Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE Award winner is – Kerry Murphree, Interfaith Clinic Advance Practice Provider.  Kerry’s depth of compassion shows in patient care.  She is considerate of the unique circumstances each patient faces and communicates thoroughly and effectively. If there is a problem, Kerry addresses it quickly or takes it to the appropriate person. Honesty and integrity are two traits that describe Kerry beyond doubt. She always wears a smile.  Kerry likes to be challenged and welcomes growth and change.  A nominator stated, “I have never heard Kerry speak negatively about a coworker.” Kerry is a cancer survivor and lives with a cancer diagnosis.  She can relate to patients and is able to empathize with her patients especially those receiving difficult diagnoses.  She works with every personality type and can break through with even the toughest patients. Every single patient is given the same quality care, attention, and is not treated like an underserved population. She will do anything she can to improve the life of the patient.

Kerry received an engraved plaque and an additional week of paid vacation. Congratulations to all our Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE award winners.
